Many people are unaware of the laws regarding towing caravans and trailers and may be breaking them without even realising - running the risk of being fined or even disqualified from driving. The technical details are quite complicated but basically if you passed you driving test after 1 January 1997 and have an ordinary Category B (car) licence, you may not be able to legal tow horse boxes, caravans or large trailers unless you pass the car plus trailer test (Category B + E). This also applies if you have been disqualified from driving and regained your licence after 1st January 1997, as you will have lost your entitlement to tow trailers over a certain weight and will have to gain a Category B+E licence before you can legally do so again.
At Around the Bend, we provide specialist nationwide trailer training to allow you to gain your Category B+E licence if you need one for either towing a trailer or a caravan. If you are not sure if you need a Category B+E licence, simply give us a call and we’ll let you know.
Trailer training courses are available locally to you and are charged out at either a half day or full day rate.
